It's been a dream since I was a teenager - to travel the world. It all started with a desk pad showing a world map. At that time I scribbled imaginary lines on there and tried to imagine how all the places along those lines look like. However, I didn't have a clue how to actually execute such a journey and even when to do it.
More than 20 years later I finally got the courage to fulfill this dream. Since I did some bicycle touring before - such as cycling across Germany - I decided to go on that journey by bike as well. Therefore I quit my apartment, sold several stuff, gave some stuff away and when I actually wanted to quit my job my boss simply released me from work so that I can go on that trip. So I left my hometown Flensburg, Germany on the 30th June and headed southeast on my bicycle. My goal is to visit each continent and travel a significant distances one each of them. |
I also use this journey to raise money for charity. All donations are going to the German Red Cross and will help to equip schools in Darfur, Sudan. So if you enjoy reading this blog and following my journey then please support this campaign and make a small donation. Cheers!
