[DE] Corona-bedingt unterliegt Laos seit über 6,5 Monaten einem Lockdown. In Luang Prabang wurde zudem vor ca. 3 Wochen ein harter Lockdown verordnet. Das hatte zur Folge, dass sogar Supermärkte, Take-Away in Restaurants und Lieferservices geschlossen wurden.

Die Lebensmittelversorgung beschränkt sich aktuell ausschließlich auf die Fresh Markets. Die Auswahl ist allerdings sehr begrenzt. Nicht nur hinsichtlich von Lebensmitteln, sondern auch von Hygiene-Artikeln.

​Wie das im Alltag aussieht, wie es mit einer möglichen Ein- oder Ausreise für Touristen aussieht und was für Geschichten sich sonst so in Laos abspielen, darauf gehe ich kurz in diesem Update-Video ein. 

[EN] Due to Covid-19, the lockdown in Laos has been in place for over 6.5 months now. In Luang Prabang, even a strict lockdown was ordered about 3 weeks ago. As a result, even supermarkets, take-away restaurants and delivery services were closed.⁠

The food supply is currently limited to the fresh markets. The choice is very limited. Not only in regards of food, also in sense of hygiene products.⁠

What it looks like in everyday life, what it looks like with a possible entry or exit for tourists and what other stories are going on in Laos, I’m briefly talking about in this update video.⁠

[DE] Der Lockdown in Laos hält seit mittlerweile fast sechs Monaten an. Seit dem 7. Oktober ist in Luang Prabang nun wieder ein strenger Lockdown verordnet, weil die Corona-Fallzahlen in den vergangenen Wochen stark gestiegen sind.

Am Montagabend (11.10.2021) wurde zudem verordnet, dass am Folgetag (12.10.2021) sogar sämtliche Supermärkte, Mini-Marts und Lebensmittel-Lieferdienste zu schließen haben.

​Wie sich diese Maßnahmen auf meine unmittelbare Umgebung auswirken und wie die aktuelle Stimmung sowie Atmosphäre in Luang Prabang ist, das zeige ich in diesem Video.

UPDATE (13.10.2021): Mittlerweile ist auch der Supermarkt geschlossen. Ich hatte also Glück noch Klopapier kaufen zu können.

[EN] The lockdown in Laos has been in place for almost six months. Since 7th October there's another strict lockdown in place in Luang Prabang because the number of Covid cases has risen sharply in the recent weeks.⁠

On Monday evening (11th October) it was also announced that all supermarkets, mini-marts and food delivery services have to close on the following day (12th October).⁠

In this video I’m showing how these measures affect my immediate surroundings and what the current atmosphere in Luang Prabang is.

UPDATE (13/10/2021): The supermarket is now also closed. So I was lucky to be able to buy toilet paper.
